Ralph came to us looking for something different than what he was currently experiencing. We worked with him initially by getting correct form nailed down and he took to it like a champ!
Since day 1, Ralph has been putting in 110% on each and every workout. (Even the incredibly hard ones.) He's trusted our guidance, knowledge, and commitment to our members and allowed us to take the wheel. Just from following our programming, he's moved mountains with his strength and conditioning. Today, he's able to keep up with some of our younger members and we couldn't be more proud!
Ralph, you're a great inspiration to the LIFT community and we couldn't be happier that you've trusted us with your health and fitness. (And thank you for helping keep those Basketball boys in line all summer!) And the donuts of course!
You can usually find Ralph popping in around 7am and he'd love for you to see him and introduce yourself. (If he doesn't introduce himself first!)

Q: How long have you been training at LIFT?
A. I have been at LIFT since January 2019.
Q: What made you decide to try LIFT?
A. I met Katie at another gym and was impressed with her knowledge, care, and genuine concern for those she trained. I wanted to be at a gym where the focus was on my overall well-being – not just weight loss. After speaking with Matt & Katie about what LIFT offered, I was ready to sign up.
Q: In your opinion, what makes LIFT different than any other gym?
A. First, it starts with Matt & Katie. They genuinely care about your personal needs and work to make an impact in the community beyond the walls of the gym. I love how they truly care for people both young and old. They are not looking simply for their personal success but want to make sure everyone they meet is successful in life.
Second, the people. It’s like a family. Everyone encourages one another. The encouragement creates a culture that is meaningful and fun. I have enjoyed the friendly competition that has encouraged us all to continue working harder.
Q: What has been your biggest accomplishment since joining?
1) Working out without experiencing the pain I had been enduring while working out at other gyms.
2) I look forward to the challenge of full body days. Yes, the workouts are tough, but they push me to be better.
Q: What are some of your goals that you wish to achieve in the next 6 months?
A. I want to stay consistent over the fall and winter months.
Q: What is something you'd tell someone just joining LIFT?
A. Be patient. There will always be someone stronger, better, and more fit. So, enjoy every accomplishment even if it seems small. A win is a win – celebrate it and let us celebrate with you. Get a MyZone belt. You will find out you are working way harder than you think!
Q: If there was a workout that you could make your trainers do, what exercises would it include?
A. Can Matt do all the Burpees for me – every week for a year? How about curls and donuts!
Q: Any additional things you'd like to share?
A. I loved working out with the students in Community Ed this summer. What a joy to have them around. We have some great kids in North Branch. A huge shout out to the Boys Basketball Team – thanks for letting me work out with you!
